Snoop Dogg is set to release his twentieth studio album, Missionary, on December 13 of this year through Death Row Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records. Snoop himself and Dr. Dre will handle production, and the album will feature an impressive lineup, including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Sting, 50 Cent, Method Man, Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, BJ the Chicago Kid, Alus, Jhené Aiko, K.A.A.N., Cocoa Sarai, Dem Jointz, Smitty, Stalone, and Fat Money. Missionary follows his two albums from 2022, BODR and Snoop Cube 40 $hort.

The album began to be mentioned by Snoop on social media in the last months of 2022. Snoop Dogg confirmed that Missionary was in the works during an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s podcast. He mentioned that “It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.” When he was asked how he chose the name he simply told the host, “The first album was Doggystyle.”

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on August 13, 2024, Dr. Dre added, “This one is going to show a different level of maturity with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career.” While details about Missionary are still limited, hints from both Snoop and Dre over the past few years have left fans eagerly awaiting its release.
