Glastonbury, the UK’s Biggest Festival, a New Queue System for Ticket Sale

Glastonbury Festival is revamping its ticket-buying system after years of fan frustration with chaotic sales processes. In an attempt to reduce platform overload, Glastonbury has announced a new system ahead of this year’s ticket sales later this month. The updated queueing process will be implemented for the coach ticket sale on November 14 and the general sale on November 17.

This year, anyone already on the See Tickets website when tickets go live will be placed into a queue at random. A progress bar will display how long it will take until it’s their turn to purchase tickets. If someone joins the page after the sale has started—at 6 pm and 9 am GMT, respectively—they’ll be placed at the end of the line. As before, once in the purchase stage, each group can buy up to six tickets.

This new approach differs from previous years, where festival-goers had to log in after sales had begun and repeatedly refresh the page, hoping to bypass the flood of other eager fans and secure their tickets. In the past , people trying to boost their chances would use multiple devices to access the website. This year, however, Glastonbury has warned that “using several devices or tabs at once to try to enter the website could result in your IP address being blocked, preventing you from purchasing a ticket. This also applies to sharing cookies and QueueIDs.”

Glastonbury’s recommendation is to “limit yourself to a single tab or device per IP address and avoid refreshing your page once you’re in the queue.” As in previous years, Glastonbury requires hopeful ticket buyers to register ahead of the sale. Tickets are linked to individual buyers through photo IDs to prevent resales by scalpers. Ticket registration will close on November 11.

Ticket prices have risen again for the popular music and arts festival, with general sale tickets now priced at £373.50 (€454.50). The goal of the new system is to make ticket access fairer and simpler, giving everyone a better chance to secure a spot at this highly sought-after event.Glastonbury 2025 will take place from June 25 to 29. While no acts have been confirmed yet, it is expected to be one of the most in-demand events of the summer.
